How to Clear Common Error Codes Instantly
You just paid, but your TV is still showing an error message. Don't panic. Here is how to fix it in seconds.
#### The Famous E16 Error (Service is currently scrambled)
This usually happens when your decoder was turned off while you were renewing your subscription.
1. Make sure your decoder is turned ON.
2. If you are on DStv or GOtv, send an SMS with the word RESET followed by your Smartcard/IUC number to 30333.
3. Alternatively, you can use the USSD code: dial *288# and follow the prompts to clear error codes.
#### The E30 Error (Checking subscription status)
Your decoder is trying to figure out if you actually paid. Give it a push:
1. Leave the decoder on for about 15 minutes on Channel 154 (Africa Magic Family) or Channel 1 (for GOtv).
2. If it doesn't clear, log into your VTU dashboard and use the "Clear Error" feature, or dial *288# to force a reset.
